Privacy Policy
Daily Mental Math for iOS
Effective 18 August 2026 · Last updated 18 August 2026
The short version
- The app has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own.
- Your practice history, scores, streaks and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
- The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the ads and receives data as described below.
- Buying Remove ads stops the advertising SDK from running at all.
- You can erase everything at any time from Settings ▸ Reset data, or by deleting the app.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how the iOS app Daily Mental Math, published by Tiep Nguyen ("we", "us"), handles information. It applies to the app only, not to any other product or website.
2. Information the app collects
We collect nothing
The app has no user accounts and no backend service. It makes no network requests of its own, contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and transmits no information to us. We cannot see how you use the app, and we hold no data about you.
What is stored on your device
So the app can work between sessions, the following is saved locally on your iPhone and never leaves it:
- Practice results — problems answered, accuracy, timing, and your daily brain-age score
- Progress state — streaks, XP, level, per-skill statistics and personal bests
- Your settings — reminder time, sound, haptics, theme, text size and chosen mascot
- An optional age, if you choose to enter one when you first set up the app. It is used only to give your brain-age result context on your own screen. It is never transmitted, and you may leave it blank.
This data lives in the app's private storage, is included in your encrypted device backups if you use them, and is removed when you delete the app.
3. Advertising
The free version of the app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK), in two places: a full-screen ad at the boundary of a practice session, and an optional "watch to train again" video that you choose to start.
To serve those ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and operating-system details, and how you interact with the ads. Google uses this to deliver and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to prevent fraud — and, where you have consented, for personalised advertising.
We do not receive any of this information, and we never share your on-device practice data with Google or anyone else.
Google's own terms govern that data. Google is required to protect it to a standard equivalent to this policy. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchasing Remove ads ends this entirely. When you own that purchase the advertising SDK is not started at all — no ad requests are made and no ad-related data is collected.
4. Tracking permission
On first use the app may show Apple's standard tracking-permission prompt. Your answer is entirely your choice:
- If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads across apps.
- If you decline, that identifier is not available. You will still see ads, but they will not be personalised. Nothing else about the app changes.
You can change this decision at any time in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking.
5. Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you use the app in a region that requires it, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform appears before any ad is requested, letting you accept or refuse the uses described there. You can reopen that form and change your choices at any time from Settings ▸ Ad privacy settings inside the app.
6. Purchases
Remove ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. The app only learns whether the purchase is currently active, and stores that fact locally so ads stay off. Restoring on a new device is handled by Apple through Settings ▸ Restore purchase.
7. Notifications
If you enable the daily reminder, the notification is scheduled and delivered locally by your device. There is no push server, and no notification data reaches us. You can turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings.
8. Children
Daily Mental Math is a general-audience app, suitable for both children and adults. It is rated 4+ and is not directed at children as its primary audience.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — as described in section 2, we do not collect personal information from anyone, at any age. The optional age you may enter stays on your device and is never transmitted.
Advertising creatives are restricted to those rated suitable for general audiences. If you are a parent or guardian and have any question about how the app works, contact us using the details below.
9. Your choices and how to delete your data
- Erase everything in the app — Settings ▸ Reset data permanently deletes all practice history, progress and settings from your device. This cannot be undone.
- Delete the app — removes all locally stored data with it.
- Change ad consent — Settings ▸ Ad privacy settings, where applicable.
- Change tracking permission — iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking.
- Remove ads completely — purchase Remove ads, after which the advertising SDK never runs.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to retain, export or delete on your behalf. Data held by Google is retained under Google's own policies, linked above.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and — where the change is significant — note it in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
